Happy Fall ya'll

Wow, back to school has been so busy.  I have lost my mind and signed up for 5 college credits (2 classes) and that is on top of work and family.  I have no time for crafting or decorating...dislike that very much.  I have so many plans running through my head. I write them down and put them away for now. I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of fall.  Looking forward to seeing everyone's haunted decor.

New Lamp...

August...wow

It has been a long time since my last post,  I am still trying to figure out this whole BLOG world.  I cannot believe summer is almost gone and Labor Day is sneaking up quietly upon us.  This time of year makes me sad to see my kids leave the safe barriers of home and onto another year of school.  It also makes me happy to see who they are becoming.  They are growing up way to fast for me and I know I need to have a hobby for in a few years they will be off to college.  I do teach pre-school and that is so much fun and gives me the taste of little ones :)

Enough of that, after all this is a blog about white painted wood, LOL. I am going to continue to play with this, any help, suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated.  I will also try and upload some of my white painted wood projects from this summer, so stay tuned.

Until then, have a wonderful Thursday and enjoy the last days of summer, get to beach, or the pool and enjoy that beautiful summer sun!  As for my friends and family on the East Coast, get your hurricane readiness kit together and hunker down with some friends and stay safe with that hurricane Irene scooting up the coast.

Happy Sunday,
I have had a great weekend.  Yesterday I had such a fun time going to a flea market, second hand stores, antique stores and rummage sales with my friend Jen.  I found a great old bunny pitcher and the price was great 3.00.  As I looked at it I kept thinking this looks so familiar.  I looked on the bottom and there was a stamp that said FF 1987.  I realized that I had a Fitz and Floyd bunny pitcher. I got on eBay it's starting bid was 47.99.  It is good to know what you are looking at and try and learn the value of things before you go, then you will know if you are getting a good deal or not.  I have been busy painting an old bench I bought yesterday as well and finishing up my coffee table that I found at Good will for 25.00. I have painted them Canvas Tan (Behr paint from Home Depot)...it looks like a linen white...very pretty and clean looking.  I will post some pictures later of what I have painted. I am really having fun sharing this with you. Keep coming back and checking on the progress of my blog as I continue to learn all about this new found love.
Until later have a great day!
Many blessings,
Kelly

Really

Wednesday, June 22, 2011
I can hardly believe I am doing this.  I love, love, love decorating and I have been thinking about doing this for quite some time and now I decided this morning that I was going to do it. I have been reading decorating blogs for quite some time...young house love you were my first inspiration.  I have seen a common thread in many of these wonderful blogs about painted wood and how some people do not like it, or have a fear of painting wood ( by the way, that is where I came up with the name of my blog...is it too cheesy?)   I have to say my DH (Darling Husband) and I go back and forth on this one on a regular basis.  I am slowly changing his mind towards that idea...and I mean SLOWLY.  I have however, convinced him that painting our ugly oak cabinets would be an asset in our home.  That project will be starting in the next few weeks. I will post pictures when I know more about what I am doing with this blog and learn how to actually do this.  If you have any ideas, advice or any words of wisdom please share.
Until Tomorrow, may the rest of your day be filled with many blessings,
Kelly
